If you have an LG smartphone, you're probably already aware of LG PC Suite, but if you tossed the installation disk that came with your Android device, you might have missed this comprehensive, helpful set of file management tools.

The basic function of the suite is to allow you to move files on and off of your Android smartphone. This includes calendars, contacts, photos, music and just about anything else that you put onto the device.

Because the program offers Bluetooth connectivity, you don't actually need to hook your phone up to your PC to make changes. That's an especially nice feature if you only need to make a few minor changes and you don't feel like digging around your desk for a USB cord, but LG PC Suite also works well over USB if you're so inclined.

You can sync your data with LG, although you'll need an account with the cellphone company to back up your contacts, music and other data. The extra data protection could come in handy if you lose or damage your phone, and it's well worth setting up an account as LG PC Suite makes backup extremely easy. You can also control your phone directly from your computer screen with your mouse, which is a nice extra even if it isn't a completely necessary feature.

Unfortunately, there are stability issues. You need to connect your phone before you run LG PC Suite or the program won't recognize your phone. Bluetooth connections work much better if you've got your Windows 7 up to date, so run Windows Update before running LG PC Suite. LG PC Suite also has a fairly basic interface and might not provide enough power for some users. Still, it's probably the best option out there for backing up your LG smartphone and occasionally transferring important files to your PC.
